About this course
- $350.00
- A reliable internet connection and a laptop (or a device of similar size) are required to join Zoom sessions and complete the course modules. Mobile phones are not compatible and will not provide a successful learning experience for this course.
- This course is a hybrid of two live webinars and weekly online modules. You will attend two live webinars (Zoom) and complete a module and an assignment each week for five weeks.

The course is designed to equip each participant to gain confidence and serve as one of the greatest strengths of the school. The course also provides Montessori Assistants a greater appreciation of their service for the children and the whole community.

Topics include Dr. Maria Montessori’s Life and Work, the nature of the child, the beauty of the Montessori environment, best practices for classroom management, the role of the adult in nurturing the child, and the inner preparation of the adult.

The reflective learning, interactive activities, and collaborative work throughout this course will provide learners a deeper view of the whole child and education.

Cathy Durand-Horne
Director of Professional Development
Cathy Durand-Horne is the Director of Professional Development at Montessori Mastermind and MTEI of Atlanta. She is an Advanced level, state-approved Child Development Associate trainer with an AMS Infant and Toddler Montessori teaching credential and a BA in Psychology and Economics from Denison University. Cathy has over 20+ years of experience in the field of early childhood education, teaching, developing curriculum, consulting, and providing professional development for teachers. She is very passionate about empowering teachers in Montessori and traditional Early Learning environments. In addition to being an instructor and field consultant for the training institute, Cathy is also the founder of Intentional Logic Group, LLC, a consulting firm that focuses on improving the quality of learning environments intentionally by providing teacher mentorship, classroom consultation, and providing equitable solutions centered around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Cathy brings a wealth of information and experience and loves to share her knowledge with the students.
